Land Development

Nelis Law has significant experience successfully procuring land development approvals, including subdivisions, boundary line adjustments, variances,  special exceptions, and rezoning permits.  Having worked as a project manager of a land development company, Nelis understands the value of timely land approvals from the business and legal perspective. While primarily focused on Loudoun and its incorporated towns, such as Purcellville, Round Hill, Leesburg, and Middleburg, Nelis Law has handled land development applications in Fairfax, Clarke, Frederick, and Faquier Counties.

Real Estate

Nelis Law offers its clients a full suite of legal real estate services.  Our services extend to: boundary line disputes, commercial and residential landlord-tenant matters and unlawful detainer, adverse possession claims, easements issues, and eminent domain and inverse condemnation cases. 

Land Conservation Easements

Nelis Law has considerable expertise in conservation easements.  We have recorded conservation easements in Purcellville as well as Loudoun, Frederick, and Stafford Counties.  Nelis Law engages with an experienced team of professionals, including environmental engineers, land planners, and appraisers.  We have prepared easements for several different land trusts, including the Old Dominion Land Conservancy.

Energy Law

The Virginia Clean Economy Act has created fertile ground for an expansion in solar power, other renewables, and energy storage.  Nelis Law is poised to assist clients in navigating the legislative and regulatory maze affecting  the clean energy industry, which includes securing the required permitting and land use approvals.
